What can my child hope to get out of attending this camp?
Our primary goal for camp is for our kids to have a fun, rewarding experience while building their speech, language, motor, sensory processing, and social skills. Because of our low child to teacher ratio, there is individualized attention throughout the day to address specific goals. By running camp for 4 weeks, we are excited by the prospect of our kids forming strong, lasting friendships that will carry over once camp is finished.
How will I know what my child is doing each day at camp?
Parents will receive a letter prior to camp starting outlining the themes for the month. In addition, a note will go home each day detailing specific activities and highlights from the day. Finally, all parents will receive a password to access our website where pictures will be uploaded each day showing all the fun we had!
Can my child attend camp for part of the month?
While we feel that 4 weeks provides the best camp experience for your child, we understand that vacations and other family events come up and we do offer a 2-week option. This option costs $2100.
If my child is sick or my family decides to take a vacation during camp, can I get a refund?
No refunds are given. Our staffing, supplies and activities are based on the number of campers signed up by the deadline.
What are my payment options?
We accept check and Visa/MC credit cards as payment. We are happy to work out a payment plan that allows you to pay for camp in increments (to be paid in full by camp start date). A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at time of registration.
What is my camp fee put towards?
Our camp is fully staffed with 2 SLPs, 2 OTs and 2-3 college and graduate students (these numbers are based on a full camp of 16 kids). We pride ourselves in keeping the ratio of students to instructors low, ensuring plenty of individualized attention for each child. Each instructor is paid for their time at camp. In addition, we are planning to hire a Yoga instructor and Music teacher to add to our camp experience. We are lucky to be given the opportunity to rent space outside of our office, which allows us to be outside for the majority of our camp time! Water and supplies are also included in the camp price.
Will I receive insurance reimbursement?
Camp costs are the responsibility of the family. Some families have received a portion of camp reimbursed. We recommend you discuss with your insurance company the possibilities for reimbursement prior to registering if you are hoping to seek reimbursement. Payment in full is required to attendance at camp.
Where is camp located?
Camp for 4-10 yr olds is located at Westover Baptist Church in Arlington, VA. It is situated at the intersection of Washington Blvd. and Patrick Henry Drive. There are many camps run at this location (Levine Music School). Our space includes the gym and outdoor, walled-in courtyard. The proper entrance for Camp Splish-S.P.L.O.S.H. is off of Washington Blvd. Park as close to the building with the playground to your right. There is a single, white door that will take you into the indoor gym.
What does my child need to bring to camp?
Your child should bring a backpack/bag with a snack, lunch and drink, sun tan lotion, bathing suit and towel, and extra change of clothes.
