Happy OT Month!  We are excited to spend the month of April, celebrating our colleagues, Occupational Therapists!  Speech language pathologists love OTs as they provide many of the foundational skills our language disordered kids need so much.  Plus, their sensory activities are SO much fun!  An occupational therapist wears many hats to address any of the following areas: fine motor, sensory processing, self-regulation, motor planning, play development, and often feeding.

We’re keeping this blog post short, as we want you to get to the best part: the video! Each week in the month of April, we’ll highlight a different occupational therapist with whom we’ve collaborated. The OTs have created a short video demonstrating a favorite sensory or home based activity that is easy to incorporate into your daily routine. For our first guest OT, we present Melissa Grant, owner of Fairfax FUNdamentals, who is discussing one of her favorite tools: the sensory box!

Stayed tuned next Wednesday when we present, Rebecca Rath, OTR/L of Scribbles, LLC and her homemade playdoh activity!.
