While we’re in the worst cold snap DC has seen in years, Building Blocks is thinking of summer! Camp Registration opens NOW and this year’s camp is expanding to add Occupational Therapy, thirty extra minutes onto our day, and offering an extended day program!
We are so excited to join Camp WeWanna (OT camp run by Myania Moses & Associates) this year. For years, clients have asked “Why don’t you run a camp together?” Well, the stars have aligned for us and we are joining forces this summer. By joining camps, we will have space for more campers, but retain the same low ratio of staff to camper. Depending on the number of campers, the daily staff will include, 2 SLPs, 2 OTs, and 2-3 intern/volunteers.
Our location will stay the same (Westover Baptist Church, Arlington VA) as will many of our favorite activities (e.g., water slide, rock wall, car wash, and rocket balloons). The OTs will bring numerous other creative ideas as well as their expertise in sensory processing, motor planning, and fine motor skills. We are excited to have a fun-filled day with activities that will work on both speech/language needs along with OT needs.
